Lamb kebabs are a tasty, savory, and delicious dish made by my grandpa and dad. This recipe was passed down from my grandpa to my dad and now to me. My grandpa used to make these on special occasions such as holidays and family reunions, and now my dad makes them for special occasions too.

Recipe:

Ingredients (Serves 6)

  • 2 lbs ground lamb meat

  • 1 yellow onion diced

  • 1 small bundle green onion

  • 1 small bundle cilantro

  • 3 teaspoon garlic

  • 3 teaspoon ginger

  • 3/4 tablespoon turmeric powder

  • 1 & 1/2 tablespoon coriander powder

  • 1 tablespoon cumin (jeera)

  • 2 tablespoon salt

  • 1 tablespoon of blended green chili

Method:

  1. Mix all ingredients into lamb meat together.

  2. Once all ingredients are properly mixed in, place all meat in a bag or bowl with lid and allow to cool for 45min-1 hr.  You can also place portions of the meat inside foil paper and place inside the fridge.

  3. After the meat has cooled, place the meat on a skewer uniformly with your hands using gloves.

  4. Place the skewer over the grill and cook, turning the skewer to allow all sides to cook uniformly.

  5. Remove from grill and dice pieces.

  6. Serve with lime and onions.

Preparation time:

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

Serving Instruction:

  • Serve immediately
